Wardobe

The assignment was to make a prop but fully render it out with a turnaround. I decided to make a wardrobe and make it childlike. Both the doors are able to open and the drawer it able to open and close as well. It was modeled to be rigged.

Rigging: Cap

This is a simple textured rig of Captain America (a very wimpy one at that), but it was textured, rigged, and animated by me. The animation portion of it was meant to show how the rig was able to move. In true spirit of Captain America, i decided to make him throw his shield. Blend shapes were also used to show the expressions.

"Sprout"

This is a 2D short made in my studio production class. A total of 10 students had a hand in the creation of this.

My roles were:
-Storyboard Artist
-Animator (lead and in-between)
-Compositor

This link leads to the animation mentioned:

 Sprout

Storyboards:

My part to storyboard was the intro. This is just the first storyboards that were presented as ideas. These scenes were not all used with only a couple of them being approved. This is only page 1 as two other people in the small group had the rest of this version. All in all there were about 4 or 5 different versions of this story.

(In this version of the story, it had a much darker feel, with it actually showing characters dying. The final version had all the characters just running away and no signs of death)
(Some storyboards that were cleaned up and added to the main lines of storyboards. They include scene 4, 5, 10a, and 10b. Scene 10 was later scraped and changed)

---

Animation:

My main scene to animate (and later composite along with other scenes) was Scene 13b. I was working on this single scene from the original pencil sketch to the final animation process.

(This is the triumphant scene where Sprout finally stands up to the dark shadows)

Compositing:

Business Cards

Some cards, these will be subject to change.

Cartoon Grumps

More drawing practice in a different style. This was simply inspired by Arin Hanson and Danny Avidan of Game Grumps and band Starbomb. This style is new so I have been practicing drawing different kinds of people in order to get practice. These two are a set of five, 3 of which are still in progress.

Illustrator Self Portrait

The goal was to make a self portrait about oneself, it could be realistic or stylized. Stylized included being inspired by someone else's work. My self portrait was inspired by the Gorillaz "Demon Days" album, with Jamie Hewlett being the man behind the drawings.

(The final Illustrator version of myself)

(The original sketch. Drawn on blank white paper with a sheet of tracing paper on top to draw the hat. This was done as a test, where if the hat wasn't wanted, then it could easily be "erased")

Quick Sketches Pt.1

This is the start of a short series of drawings.

---

As part of some exercises for myself, I decided to draw a simple curve and then draw a character from it. This was also practice with a different style.

(This one is based off a comedic musician and gamer on Youtube named Daniel Avidan)

(This was originally drawn as a reaction to a friend's own image of winning)

---

(A scene made in markers. This was part of a concept for a horror/sci-fi. The characters in this scene is from another project called "The Crimson Hero", which is made by myself)

"Alien Express" Props- Dolls

Part of the production for "Alien Express" had me making the various dolls that would be seen in the background as well as the love interest for the main character.

---

(Main love interest for the main character. This alien is actually a doll, but he cannot tell)

(The occlusion turnaround of the doll)

Pod Racer

A pod racer that was textured, rigged, lighted, and animated by me

"Alien Express" Props

Alien Express: A short love story about a real-life alien who fall in love with an alien doll.

This animation is still in process by  "Team 51" (a production team of 4 students) of the Art Institutes of California- Silicon Valley.

My roles at the moment:

-Assistant Director
-Lead Prop Modeler

(More roles will be later on when the project is further along)

The setting for this animation is a carnival/outdoor fair, so carnival props had to be made including food booths, game booths, Ferris Wheel, toy prizes, etc. The following are some of the props I have modeled for the project.

Game Booths:

Photobooth:

Toy Racks:

Various Background Props:

---

The project is still in the works and will be updated as time goes on.

3D Visual Effects

The following are two animations done with using dynamics and constraints in Maya.

(This is a simple ball following a curved path. Made using active and rigid bodies)

---

(An animation also using active and rigid bodies, including a few constrains on the actual lever so that it would throw off a "bomb" of sorts)

Motel Room

A model of a simple motel room inspired by the one in the video game "Portal 2" by Valve Corporation.

Modeled in Maya and textured using Photoshop

---
Some props from the room above. Below are shown the side table, lamp, and the mini-fridge

D-cell Robot

The assignment was to make a simple D-cell Robot and then take that same robot and make it look like it has been sitting out for some time. This was created in Maya with textures made in Photoshop.

Brownstone Building

A brownstone building done in Maya. The middle building was the one created by me. The show more emphasis towards it, a bump map was added to create more depth. The building on the left and right were done by classmates of mine.

Character Modeling

Models that are done in Zbrush. These are works in progress. They will be revisited later on and completed.

Tower Bridge

A simple model of the Tower Bridge located in London, England.

Anatomy Practice

A few gesture poses and a few facial expression drawings.

Background Concepts

The following are background concepts for different themes.

(An abandoned train platform)

---

(From the top left: Cave; a passageway before a throne room.
From bottom left: the door to a "tree-house" and its lake view; a glowing forest)

Image Manipulation

These were created using Adobe Photoshop. The following were created for two different purposes in mind.

(Is a matte painting. This piece is composed for 3 different images to create one single landscape. This was created so that a camera would be able to go through and "explore")

---

(Created as an advertisement using provided images. The job was to make it appealing enough that people would want to go)

Illustrator Work

Pieces of artwork done in Adobe Illustrator. The following were parts of two different assignments. Each was supposed to use simple vector based images.

---

(This first assignment was to be a simple vintage style holiday card.)

---

(This second assignment is supposed to be part of a simple children's book)

Character Emotion Poses

Part of some early assignments. This specific assignment was to use two different rigs, a bipedal and a bipedal with arms, to create different emotions or sports poses.

---

These first two Simple-Bot poses were supposed to show emotions.

 (Disgusted)

(Worried/Sad)

---

The next assignment was to create sports poses with a more humanoid character (bipedal with arms).

(Baseball Pitch)

(Yoga Stretch)
